For Earth Day this year, OVERDUE intro­duces artist Julia Alexan­der, a Swiss nation­al who’s called Lon­don her home for the past ten years. Julia moved to Lon­don to pur­sue a suc­cess­ful career in mod­el­ling, which she some­how man­ages to jug­gle with being a moth­er of twin boys and cre­at­ing these incred­i­ble, hyper-real­is­tic draw­ings of ani­mals. Each art­work is done in pen­cil and char­coal, and when you see the amount of detail that goes into it, you’ll under­stand why it takes Julia 6–8 months to fin­ish each piece.
